THE PRIVATE SAFARI EXPERIENCE
A privately guided safari is the ideal way to enjoy what may be a once in a lifetime African Adventure. Having a private guide ensures consistency of service levels, flexibility to adapt your safari to suit your special interests and provides an overall complete and personal experience.
Achieving this requires intimate knowledge of each camp, their staff and the highlights each area has to offer. Your private safari will be entirely customised to suit your specific needs, interests and desires, ensuring that you have the safari of your dreams.
The day starts with an early morning wake up call, followed by morning coffee & biscuits in the lounge area. We then head out for the morning game drive and try to catch the sun coming up. If we are lucky enough, we can indulge ourselves with wildlife silhouette photography.
After about 2 hours or so, or whenever we fancy, we will stop for our morning game drive coffee break. We can enjoy some muffins & biscuits with some Amarula cream liqueur in our coffee – the real bush coffee mix.
Depending on what we see that morning, the aim would be to try and be back at camp for around 10 am for brunch, that I will cook for you.
The great thing about a private safari with me, is that Lodge routines don’t determine your day, but you do!
After brunch, you will be at your own time and leisure to either catch up on some sleep, or lay around the pool, or read a book. It’s your time to relax in your own private camp with your own family or friends, bonding and making memories.
Depending on the seasons, we would then head out for the afternoon game drive between 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm, and once again the game drive is determined by you as the guest, and I will suggest, recommend and inform you as what is going on, so that you can make informed decisions as to how you would like to enjoy your game drives.
For me, one of the most important parts of the day, is finding a place to watch the sun go down. It gives us a chance to get out of the vehicle, stretch our legs while you enjoy sipping on your favourite beverage and munch on some hearty snacks. Once we are happy and ready to move on, our tracker will switch on the spot light, and we will make our way back to camp using the spot light to look for nocturnal animals.
Once we arrive back in camp, the fire will be roaring at the fire place, where you you can top up your wine glasses and sit around the fire while I barbeque (braai) dinner for the evening’s meal.
Family Safaris

There is nothing more rewarding than watching your child experience their first Elephant encounter or spotting their first Giraffe.
We realise that there are many lodges out there that do not cater for children, or that they have an age requirement. However, we have many choices of lodges that do, and having children of our own, who have enjoyed the bush with us on many occasions, we have figured out what it is that they enjoy about their time on safari, from providing them with activities that include ticking off their animal and bird list sightings, to teaching them about tracking, and the different animal spoor that we encounter daily. They might also have the opportunity to catch a fish and enjoy some time around the campfire, roasting marshmallows.
Our favourite family safari is to spend time on a private safari at Walkers River Camp in the Timbavati Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The beauty of using this camp is that you will have the camp to yourself, as well as having the safari vehicle to yourselves. This way parents can feel more relaxed that their children are not interrupting other travellers on their safari.
We can tailor the game drives to suit you and your family, as well as your preferences regarding meal times, time on the safari vehicle, and the time you spend in camp having fun with the children around the pool, etc.
Other than that, there are many other lodges available, should this option not suit you.

A Lodge safari would be different to a private camp safari, in that you would not have the camp to yourself. However, we would arrange a private vehicle so that you can be privately guided while on safari, with the excellent teamwork of the lodge’s in-house rangers and myself.
When we are not on a game drive, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the camp’s facilities and mingle with the other guests. We believe in offering our guests the best possible safari experience in South Africa, and for that reason, we mainly utilise camps and lodges that form part of the Greater Kruger National Park.
We do however realise that not all our clients are in a position to visit the Kruger, so we also utilise camps and Lodges all over South Africa, like the Garden Route, the Eastern Cape, the Waterberg and Madikwe to name a few.
Not all our safaris are privately guided, so we also assist with booking our clients into Lodges that we have tried and tested and believe that you would have an amazing safari at.
